XTRACTION - Raver J Flash Fiction to Save The Whales

“XTRACTION” is a short e-story starring our heroine Raver J, that you can purchase now with 100% of the proceeds going to the grassroots activist group, TideBreakers, who directly inspired the story from their heroic drone-footage work. (Watch a video about the orcas that inspired Xtraction).

This digital download is delivered in two formats, ePub and PDF. It's a 5 min/ flash fiction read from the mythic underground where Raver J and her rave-crew organize a heist, risking it all to free abandoned orcas from a forgotten marine park.

Through the lens of electronic music culture and mythic storytelling, XTraction is my creative contribution to an ongoing campaign led by Tidebreakers, a grassroots coalition working to end cetacean captivity worldwide. Their drone footage has touched me deeply. Although the story was most inspired by the plight of Wikie and Keijo and the dolphins in the deplorable conditions of Marineland Antibes, France, it should be seen as an invitation to imagine freedom for all captive cetaceans. Purchasing this story now means you’re contributing to a micro-fundraiser—with 100% of proceeds going to Tidebreakers—to help amplify awareness and spark the kind of collective action that could lead to real liberation for these beings.
